WHAT ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS?
A dental implant is a replacement tooth root made of a small titanium anchor that is surgically placed into the jaw. If you’ve lost a single tooth or several teeth or an entire mouth of teeth, a dental implant provides a permanent solution for holding a crown or bridge which is permanent.
WHY WOULD I NEED A DENTAL IMPLANT?
If you lose a tooth as a result of an accident, tooth decay, root canal failure or gum disease, Dr. Weierbach or Dr. Genetti may recommend a dental implant and an artificial replacement tooth (Crown or Cap). Dental implants also may serve as secure anchors for a bridge or dentures if you have multiple missing teeth.
WHAT’S THE SUCCESS RATE FOR DENTAL IMPLANT SURGERY?
Overall the success rate for healthy patients is high — from 92% – 98%. Diabetes or patients who have a history of head and neck radiation may carry a higher risk of implant failure. Drs. Weierbach or Genetti will review your medical history thoroughly. This will allow him to determine whether dental implants are right for you.
DOES HEALTH INSURANCE COVER DENTAL IMPLANTS?
Dental implants are not covered by medical insurance. Some dental insurance plans may pay for a portion of your implant and implant restoration. We can submit a pre-determination of benefits for you. Weierbach Prosthodontics has several payment options that are available to fit your financial needs.
WHAT IS THE SEQUENCE OF TREATMENT FOR SURGERY AND RESTORATION OF DENTAL IMPLANTS?
After a comprehensive examination and review of your radiographs and 3D images, Drs. Weierbach or Genetti will consult with you and discuss his findings and present you with you the best options which are available for your particular situation. He will discuss the pros and cons of those options. He will answer any questions you may have and you and he will have an opportunity to custom tailor your treatment plan.
