Dental Implants FAQ

WHY IS WEIERBACH PROSTHODONTICS THE BEST CHOICE FOR DENTAL IMPLANTS?

Dr. Weierbach has been AT THE FOREFRONT OF IMPLANT DENTISTRY. He has studied and lectured extensively on implant dentistry since 1985. He is a prosthodontist, which means he has three years of specialty training after dental school. His experience will guide you to a result which will stand the test of time. He has the depth and breadth you want in terms of both placing and restoring dental implants.

WHAT ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS?

A dental implant is a replacement tooth root made of a small titanium anchor that is surgically placed into the jaw. If you’ve lost a single tooth or several teeth or an entire mouth of teeth, a dental implant provides a permanent solution for holding a crown or bridge which is permanent.

WHY WOULD I NEED A DENTAL IMPLANT?

If you lose a tooth as a result of an accident, tooth decay, root canal failure or gum disease, Dr. Weierbach may recommend a dental implant and an artificial replacement tooth (Crown or Cap). Dental implants also may serve as secure anchors for a bridge or dentures if you have multiple missing teeth.

WHAT’S THE SUCCESS RATE FOR DENTAL IMPLANT SURGERY?

Overall the success rate for healthy patients is high — from 92% – 98%. Diabetes or patients who have a history of head and neck radiation may carry a higher risk of implant failure. Dr. Weierbach will review your medical history thoroughly. This will allow him to determine whether dental implants are right for you.

DOES HEALTH INSURANCE COVER DENTAL IMPLANTS?

Dental implants are not covered by medical insurance. Some dental insurance plans may pay for a portion of your implant and implant restoration. We can submit a pre-determination of benefits for you. Weierbach Prosthodontics has several payment options which are available to fit your financial needs.

WHAT IS THE SEQUENCE OF TREATMENT FOR SURGERY AND RESTORATION OF DENTAL IMPLANTS?

After a comprehensive examination and review of your radiographs and 3D images, Dr. Weierbach will consult with you and discuss his findings and present you with you the best options which are available for your particular situation. He will discuss the pros and cons of those options. He will answer any questions you may have and you and he will have an opportunity to custom tailor your treatment plan.
